Project Story
Completed:
December, 2025
Location:
Kooralbyn, QLD
The Problem:
To comply with pool safety requirements, the spa needed to be fenced. However, a standard fence would not address the constant presence of mosquitoes, flies, and other insects, nor the risk of leaves and wildlife entering the area. The challenge was to create a pool-safe enclosure that protected the space while keeping it open, airy, and visually connected to the surrounding landscape.
The Solution:
Suncoast Outdoor Living designed and installed a pool-safe screen wall positioned to the outer edge of the existing concrete slab. This smart layout maximised usable space and allowed clear foot traffic past the spa. The design integrates seamlessly with a future internal glass pool fence and includes a compliant pool-safe exit with a screened door, ensuring safety without sacrificing comfort or views.
What We Delivered:
- Pool-safe screened enclosure meeting Queensland regulations
- Insect protection for comfortable evening spa use
- Screen wall extended to slab edge to maximise space
- Clear foot traffic flow around the spa area
- Provision for internal glass pool fence and gate
- Pool-safe exit with integrated screen door for outdoor access
The Result:
The homeowners now enjoy a protected, pool-compliant spa area that feels open and connected to the outdoors. The screened enclosure enhances comfort, safety, and usability, allowing relaxed evenings in the spa without insects, debris, or unwanted wildlife, all while maintaining airflow and uninterrupted views.
