Project Story
Completed:
September, 2024
Location:
Murrumba Downs
The Problem:
For many years, people living in the bush would use shade cloth to enclose their verandas to stop the flies mainly during harvesting and also offer sun protection.
It was also common for greenhouses or ferneries to be attached to the house using a timber frame and shade cloth.
Our clients have lived with the old concept and liked having the ferns and indoor garden but still had the gaps that let the mosquitos and flies in.
The Solution:
After sitting down with Suncoast Outdoor Living, we designed an addition that would not only modernise the area but keep the required sun protection for their plants and keep out bugs and snakes.
They engaged a landscaping company to install a concrete sleeper retaining wall with a top cap that we could use to attach the aluminium frame.
Using our powder-coated aluminium frames we created a screen roof and walls. We opted for a denser screen on the roof to offer sun protection we also installed one of our 900mm wide self-closing doors for access.
Our outdoor screening system is constructed completely onsite including the doors which gives you total protection from even the smallest bugs.
