The Problem:

After relocating from Tasmania to be closer to family, our clients were looking forward to spending more time outdoors, until they discovered just how relentless Queensland’s mosquitoes can be. Their existing alfresco area was well designed but became almost unusable at dusk, making it difficult to relax or entertain outside.

The fly-over patio roof also created a large open gap at the rear of the entertaining area, making it challenging to keep insects out without compromising the look and functionality of the space. Having seen the quality of the screened enclosure Suncoast Outdoor Living had previously installed for their daughter, they knew exactly who to call.

The Solution:

Suncoast Outdoor Living designed and installed a custom screening system that enclosed the alfresco area while maintaining its modern appearance, natural airflow and everyday practicality. What We Delivered:

Removable rear screens for easy access to gutters and ongoing maintenance.
Denser rear and side screens to provide greater protection from mosquitoes and other outdoor pests.
Screened fixed louvres that allow the blades to be adjusted from inside while keeping insects out.
A 900mm self-closing access door and 50mm insulated wall panel to further enclose and protect the outdoor kitchen area.
Denser upper screening to reduce harsh morning sun while maintaining natural light.

The Result:

What was once an outdoor area that could only be enjoyed for part of the day has become the most-used space in the home. The homeowners can now entertain family and friends in comfort, enjoying fresh air and uninterrupted views without worrying about mosquitoes or other unwanted visitors.
