The Problem:

After relocating from Tasmania to be closer to family, our clients were excited to enjoy outdoor living – until they encountered Queensland’s relentless mosquitos. Their existing alfresco area was well-designed but became unusable at dusk.

With a fly-over roof creating a large open gap at the rear, they struggled to find a way to keep bugs out while maintaining the space’s visual appeal. Fortunately, their daughter had screened her outdoor area with Suncoast Outdoor Living, so they knew exactly who to call.

The Solution:

Suncoast Outdoor Living designed a custom screening system that enclosed the alfresco space while keeping it stylish and functional.

Removable Rear Screens – Allowing easy access to gutters for maintenance.
Denser Side Rear Screens – Providing added protection from bugs and the elements.
Screened Fixed Louvres – Ensuring louvre blades can still be adjusted from the inside while keeping pests out.
Front Wall Enhancements – A 900mm self-closing door and 50mm insulated wall panel extending kitchen protection.<>Upper Panel Sun Protection – A denser screen was used to minimize harsh morning sun.

With excellent airflow and complete bug protection, this outdoor space is now the most used room in the house.
