Minimise Mosquitoes & Other Harmful Bugs This Summer

The past few weeks have been super busy for the team at Suncoast Outdoor Living, and the lead-up to Christmas will be frantic both onsite and in the office. Luckily, we have been fortunate with the weather lately and our clients are reaping the benefits of the sunshine. This past week we were able to complete several jobs which will help them enjoy their outdoor areas this summer.

Here is a collection of recent projects showing off our awesome enclosures. From pool enclosures and pet doors and screens in Woodford, Ormeau and Sanctuary Cove, to our midgie screens in Burpengary and Jimboomba.

Sanctuary Cove – Midgie Screen

Our client in Sanctuary Cove lives in a beautiful area with an amazing outlook on nature. The problem is (or was) BUGS!!! The original outdoor patio area could not be used and was not quite large enough to be utilised as they wanted.

We were able to help by extending the roof area with a 10mm multiwall and then adding our 20/20 midgie screen. We also incorporated a door for ease of access. This area is now a bit larger for comfort and ability to be enjoyed all year round.

Install a pet door for your fury friends

For our clients in Ormeau, we were able to install an insulated patio roof and enclose with our 17/13 pet lite screen before the rain hit lat week.

We also added double swing doors, a single swing door and the all important pet door for their fur baby.

The client’s entertaining area has now more than doubled in size. Once they have furnished the area they will be able to utilise it without the mozzies and flies.

Avoid the Mozzies this year

According to ABC, Brisbane is in for a mosquito and midge invasion this year due to the warm and wet weather. Several councils have started to spray to try to lower the numbers of these annoying pests. The best ways to minimise the impact on your home are to ensure that there are no water-holding vessels in the outdoors, clean the leaves from your gutters etc. Another way, of course, is to have one of our outdoor screened enclosures installed.

We have 7 different screens to choose from, all of which are mozzie proof and a number of them are midge-proof. By installing a screened enclosure around the perimeter of your outdoor area, you will be able to utilise this space and leave the doors leading into this space from your home open.
